2poundsground pork sausageor your choice of ground or chopped up breakfast sausage
2cupsshredded cheddar cheese
3eggs
1 1/2cupsmilk
2tbspbuttermelted
3/4tspsalt
black pepperto taste
Instructions
In your skillet, cook and drain your sausage.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare a 9x13 inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Pour the water and ½ teaspoon salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Slowly whisk in the quickgrits. Reduce the heat to low; cover and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Beat the eggs and milk together; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked grits and cooked sausage together with 1 ½ cups cheese. Stir in the eggs mixture. Add the butter, black pepper, and remainingsalt. Pour into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with remainingcheese.
Bake uncovered for about 1 hour or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
