Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F.
In a mixing bowl, beat together oil, egg, and sugar.
Add syrup, buttermilk, flour, soda, and salt.
Mix together until well blended.
Pour into greased iron skillet and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.

Note:
If your oven cooks "hot", you might need to decrease cooking time.
