If you have apple trees, you’re familiar with the annual chore of picking all the apples. But then there’s the harder part of figuring out what to do with tons and tons of apples.
My in-laws have a few apple trees, and I’m always amazed at the yield they get. We often just eat them straight off the trees, or make something easy like an apple salad or a caramel apple. But there are so many apples that we need to get creative. So I decided to do some exploring to found some interesting apple recipes for us all to enjoy.
So whether you own apple trees, enjoy apple picking, or simply love apples, these are the recipes for you!
Breakfast Recipes with Apples
The Apple Tansey – A Vintage Recipe
Our first apple goodie is one of my favorite apple recipes for breakfast: the apple tansey. I never knew egg and apple could taste so amazing together. And once you cut up all the apple slices, this is a quick dish to cook up.
This dish can be quite beautiful if you perfectly arrange the sliced apples, but if it ends up looking more like an apple jumble, don’t fret. It’s still going to taste excellent.
Healthy Apple Pie Overnight Oats
Cinnamon apples in my oatmeal? Yes please. I love making these apple pie oats for workdays because it’s easy to prep and so delicious.
I sweeten mine with a little maple syrup, and it’s just perfect.
Apple Butter
This apple butter is a great topping for apple fritters, English muffins, and waffles.
Or top your apple cinnamon pancakes with apple butter for extra apple goodness!
Instant Pot Applesauce
For this applesauce we used Honey Crisp and Granny Smith apples. Honey Crisp apples maintain their sweet flavor even when cooked, making them a good choice for applesauce.
While Granny Smith apples are more tart, they are good all-round cooking apples, and their flavor is enhanced when combined with the sweeter Honey Crisp apples.
Once you make your own applesauce with fresh apples, you’ll never go back to the stuff in jars.
Appetizer Recipes with Apples
Baked Brie In Puff Pastry
This baked brie recipe uses a cranberry and apple mixture with chopped pecans as the filling. And a flaky puff pastry surrounds all the goodness.
Check out how easy it is to make!
Butternut Squash Apple Soup
This is a unique one, and it just might become your new favorite soup.
If you love standard butternut squash soup, definitely try out this apple version.
Dessert Recipes with Apples
Apple Pound Cake With Caramel Frosting
This apple pound cake has to be one of the best apple recipes.
In the South, caramel is considered a staple just like chocolate. We LOVE to create full flavor recipes with the smooth, creamy taste of caramel.
When you add the fresh apples and the decadence of a pound cake, well, the result is almost sinful.
Apple Crisp
This is the best apple crisp recipe I’ve tried. I added some chopped pecans to its topping when I made this dish at Christmas, and it was a crowd favorite.
Bite into those warm tender apples and enjoy!
Apple Crumble
What’s the difference between an apple crisp, apple cobbler, and apple crumble?
Check out this recipe to learn the difference and try out their great cinnamon apple crumble.
Apple Slab Pie
This apple pie is big enough to serve a crowd. Everyone will love this cinnamon apple delight.
Top it with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and you’re in business!
Baked Apple
This is an easy and delicious cooked apple dessert. The apples are stuffed with brown sugar and butter. Yum!
Top your baked apple with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream for a extra-delicious dessert.
Cinnamon Apple Fritters
I’ve tried making apple fritters in the air fryer, and this is one food where I think the deep fry works best. So, this apple fritter recipe uses the traditional deep-fry method.
The flour and apple mixture is quick to make and fry. A glaze of milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla makes for a tasty and easy topping.
Apple Tart
You can really use any fruit for this recipe, but we prefer the making the apple tart.
You’ll love the beautiful presentation of the sliced apples in their rustic crust.
Beverage Recipes with Apples
Apple Cider
It’s a bit of effort, but if you love apple cider, you’ll really enjoy drinking your own homemade version.
And you won’t even need an apple press for this recipe.
